the boudoir

As promised, here are some pictures of my cozy little nook. Very grey day here so the pictures are a little dark. I found it interesting that the etymology of the word bourdoir is a 'sulking place'*. I'm feeling a little sulky myself, maybe due to the weather and my overall lack of sleep, so I felt it very appropriate today of all days to name it that (although I'm inclined to call it the boudoir on a happy day as well).

I've got a couple of decorative details to add comfort. I'm really into flowers right now. Well, I mean I'm always into flowers (who isn't?), but I actually go out of my way to buy them for myself, which is new and good and I'm liking it. Come to think of it, I'm into anything floral.

You like? I think there's still a lot of room to improve but I'm feeling pretty good about it as is.

Bud vase from Value Village and tin from Cath Kidston.
I was inspired by Rachel Ashwell who decorates her door knobs.
I'm a big fan of trays to corral clutter.
Some century old character charm.
