while in Aix

Aix-en-Provence was the home of lots of intellectuals and artists once upon a time (which is probably why i'm so inspired to fulfill my artistic cravings), namely émile zola, hemingway and paul cézanne

Paul Cézanne was kind of character, or a loon as many would have described him... like most great artists he was lost in his art. he would take long walks where passers would notice him talking to himself. he was an introvert. had a long professional relationship with Picasso... he was Picasso's mentor. so without Cézanne... there would have been no blue period. period.

here are some images of provence through the eyes of Cézanne... starting off with his self-portrait and a painting of the neighboring mountain, Sainte-Victoire
